Safety is our culture
The most meaningful thing we can do as a company is keep our people, and yours, safe. We see safety as more than a requirement to be met; it’s part of our company culture, our commitment to one another.
Which may be why we’ve never had a major OSHA citation or fine.
Protocols to protect our greatest assets
We’ve made a commitment that every employee who shows up to work goes back home safely. That’s why any employee is empowered to stop a project if an unsafe condition exists. We leave nothing to chance, as this (only partial) list of safety protocols shows:
Awareness
-
- Safety Awareness Week
- Monthly safety campaigns, e.g., eye protection, ladder safety
- Weekly “Toolbox Talks” on trending safety topics
- The JAG safety code of conduct
Training
- Mandatory training on OSHA and state safety standards
- Third-party vendor training on new technology/techniques, incl. VR training
- Weekly on-site drills, e.g., unconscious diver drills, fall protection
- Mock rescue training for complex operations
Planning
- Project-specific Daily Activities Plans
- Location-specific Emergency Response Plans
- Field safety coordinators (on-site safety audits of projects)
- Corporate Safety Committee
Measurement & Recognition
- KPA-Flex safety management metrics, e.g., safety audits and incident reporting
- Certification and training progress tracking, by employee
- Friday safety review meetings
- Incentivized safety recognition programs, e.g. “JAG Recognizes You” and “Good Catch”
True commitment from the top down
Not only is our top leadership deeply involved – and approachable – about safety, but our coordinated team of dedicated safety managers lives and breathes safety on a day-to-day, sometimes moment-to-moment basis.
