Superintendent – Huxted Trenchless

The Superintendent will have a strong knowledge in Microtunneling and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), overall knowledge of heavy equipment and capabilities, local union labor rules and regulations. They will work in conjunction with the Project Manager to safely and productively build the work on time and within budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of contract and subcontracts to execute the work efficiently
  • Scheduling and implementing the work, working with the Project Manager to develop the basic sequencing and duration of work activities required
  • Follow Safety rules and educate employees on proper procedures
  • Equipment Utilization, know equipment capabilities and schedule same to build job efficiently, gather monthly equipment reports and inform shop of any mechanical issues requiring immediate attention
  • Labor Utilization, working knowledge of union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) where applicable and understand the separation of work by trade and efficiently utilizes manpower to minimize project cost
  • Cost, Payment and Production, understand approach, crewing and production rates used at the time of bid, monitors production and compares with as-bid goals
  • Makes adjustments to the operation as needed to improve production and efficiency and track quantities and assemble monthly estimates in coordination with Project Manager, check and prepare daily reports and timesheets
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education – High School or equivalent, Associate or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Specialized knowledge in Microtunneling and Horizontal Directional Drilling projects
  • Must travel and work from jobsite locations, including overnight stay
  • Ability to comprehend plans and specs, general computer and math skills, strong communication, both verbal and written with onsite inspectors, engineers, owner’s reps, employees of all levels
  • Able to articulate job progress, problems, delays in meeting type settings
  • Ability to delegate work & provide strong decision making & problem-solving skills
  • Experience – 7+ years on an active construction jobsite

Project Manager – Huxted Trenchless

The Project Manager will supervise projects in conjunction with the Superintendent to build the work safely and productively on time and within budget on Microtunneling and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects. Project locations vary across the US.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
  • Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
  • Develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses and minimizing risk on the project.
  • Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the owners, engineers, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and laborers.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the safety standards, quality and budget.
  • Ensure project documents are complete.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Based in the Conroe, TX area
  • 7+ years’ experience in heavy civil Micro tunneling and/or Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) construction
  • Must travel multi-state and work from jobsite location, including overnight stays
  • BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate with all levels of staff and management
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a successful completed project
  • Strong computer skills in Office 365, CAD, Microsoft Project or Primavera, Heavy Job, Viewpoint, Adobe Acrobat

Estimator – Huxted Trenchless

The Estimator will review project plans and requirements with Microtunneling and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) construction projects we perform. This position requires knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review project plans, requirements and specifications
  • Determine labor and equipment costs
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
  • Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule
  • Review estimates with Project team
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree preferred in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, but not required
  • 5+ years estimating experience in civil construction, preferably trenchless construction
  • Knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
  • Effective presentation, oral and written skills, deadline and detail-oriented
  • Strong computer skills in Office 365, CAD, Microsoft Project or Primavera, Heavy Job, Viewpoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Some travel is required and able to occasionally work on job site
  • Ability to prioritize, well-organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-task oriented

Project Engineer – Huxted Trenchless

The Project Engineer will be working in conjunction with the Project Manager (PM) to build the work safely and productively on time and within budget on Microtunneling and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects.

PROJECT ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Project Manager in establishing the project’s baseline schedule and maintaining the monthly updates
  • Prepare daily reporting
  • Assist with project purchasing
  • Support job site crews and manage subcontractors
  • Assist with development and delivery of the project submittals, RFI’s and other paperwork
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • Identify and track project changes
  • Assist with the implementation of all applicable safety programs, policies and procedures
  • Interact with inspectors and customer representatives
  • Manage document control process and follow through with proper procedures
  • Work with Estimating team by performing takeoffs and sourcing/managing material and equipment quotes
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

PROJECT ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Based in the Conroe, TX area
  • Must travel multi-state and work from jobsite location, including overnight stays
  • BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 0-4 years of heavy civil construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software a plus
  • Detail oriented, persistent, flexible, task driven, multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, able to  communicate with all levels of staff and management
